Summer Wedding Theme Ideas

Summer is the best time of the year, as has been said again and again. As such, a summer wedding theme is just one of the best when it comes to the union of two souls. However, it does not really have to be done during the summer season, unless, of course, if swimming is the main concept of the wedding. Under this theme, there are several concepts that can be utilized; all of which are pertaining to summer. Summer is always associated with merriment, the sun, and camping.

First off, one can use a Camping Wedding style. This is more of an outdoor type of scenario, even if the actual wedding is indoors. People can use trees and make props of mountains and rivers. If the couple wants it to look real, then the wedding can happen in state parks or actual camping locations. A lot can be incorporated here, like swimming, gaming, campfires, and barbecues. Guests need not be suffocated in suits and ties. They can attend the ceremony in camping gear.

The bride can get into a simple straight white dress that looks campy. The groom can sport a pair of khaki pants and a white, tribal summer shirt. The invitations may be sent in the form of tents. The wedding can occur in the afternoon or the evening, with the campfire being lit as the sun sets. Barbecue and roast pork may be cooked right at the campsite as well. The wedding reception may be held on a grassy area in a park where lighting kindle is not banned.

Torches may also be lit at night in the manner of Aztec themes. People can bask under the sun in the afternoon or moon bathe at night, drinking and celebrating around the campfire. Barbecue need not be cooked, as people can enjoy cooking their own food after dinner. Barbecue stations may be set up after dinner for those who wish to stay and drink the night off.

This concept may be made lighter by using a picnic type of wedding. This is perfect for a summer wedding theme. This may be done at a park, but the motif should almost be the same, albeit without the camping gear and such. However, barbecue is still essential since barbecue will always be part of any outdoor celebration. Picnics can be made lively by games, such as volleyball and other sports that do not really require a large space.
