Creative and Unique Wedding Gift Ideas

Sometimes buying wedding gifts can become a bit mundane. Sheets and towels, mixing bowls and small appliances, dishes and utensils. Sure these things are all appreciated but every now and then inspiration to branch out on an adventure to find a more unique and creative gift catches up with you. But where do you begin? Hopefully the list below will spark some inventive thoughts.

1. What is more creative than making something for the bride and groom. Of course this takes a special person with special talents. Those of you who are crafty with scrapbooking could put together a book that the newlyweds could use to remember their wedding or honeymoon. If there is a man of the house that can build just about anything, put him to work! A shelf, table, or storage chest are great ideas. The gift should be cohesive with the couple’s style so when making something try to think of what they would like instead of what you like.

2. Usually the happy couple will have wedding night accommodations followed by a fabulous honeymoon getaway. Sending champagne and strawberries to their room, paying for a spa day, or booking an excursion or activity for them would be a unique gift they won’t soon forget.

3. Nowadays many people are offering to pay for wedding day expenses such as the wedding cake, limo, or DJ. This is especially helpful to those couples who have to pay for their own wedding.

4. There are a lot of expenses for newlywed couples, especially if they are new homeowners as well. Creative gifts that go beyond the wedding day such as monthly lawn service, pressure washing, or new landscaping can help lighten the load just a bit.

5. Date nights are a must for every couple including the newly married. Making a “date night” basket is a unique and practical present that is sure to make memories. Dinner, a movie, bowling, or the theater are some great ideas for the fun night out.

6. Lastly, what young newlyweds don’t need a little extra cash? Money trees are a fun, creative way to give cash aside from putting it in a card. Tie bills onto a small potted plant or tree or make your own “money tree”. (I would personally hand this to the bride and groom so they can put it in a safe place) Other people could also add to the tree to make it an ultimate blessing!

Remember that thought really does count. Thoughtfulness will make any wedding gift special and perfect!
